 I was a volunteer at @thatmamashop, which organises events for polytechnic youths in Singapore.

In order to publicise these events in the online space, a team of us kicked off the social media arm in 2018. Over the years, I led a group of strategists, designers and copywriters, as well as participating in the execution myself.

Parts of the process include brainstorming, creating content pillars and calendars, as well as the creation of collaterals through design, photography and copywriting.

 

Brochures

I have designed various brochures for these events’ publicity, making use of Illustration and Graphic Design software such as Procreate, Illustrator and Photoshop. Some of which are showcased below.

I not only planned out the social media content with the team, but I also came up with some of the collaterals to be shown in the feed. Below are some of these examples, with short explanations of the event organised.

 

Gamers’ Connect

An event meant to allow youths to play and compete in Mobile Legends and PUBG with others, while making friends along the way.

 
 

Makers' Factory 4

A series of online workshops (conducted during a lockdown in 2020). 

The challenge during this event was having to constantly re-think our strategies, in order to still engage viewers.

 
 

Makers' Factory 3

The precursor to MF4, and predates the pandemic.

Here, I also engaged in vlog-style interviews in Instagram Stories during the event itself.
